The Sustainable Infrastructure and Geomechanical Research Team aims to develop innovative, sustainable and cost-effective solutions and strategies to enhance the structural and energy integrity of Geotechnical and Transportation Infrastructure and Subsurface Utilities.

We are interested in establishing interdisciplinary and collaborative R&D programs related to infrastructure resilience to climate change, natural- and human-induced hazards, permafrost engineering, monitoring, non-destructive testing, risk assessment, geothermal energy and geotechnical earthquake engineering and ground vibration.

To achieve this goal, we apply a multidisciplinary and holistic approach that comprises fundamental and applied research including advanced numerical analysis, field monitoring, and comprehensive experimental tests to investigate different phases of the life cycle of infrastructure.
