Dr. Maghoul (Lab Lead) is awarded by Tri-Agency Institutional Programs Secretariat for the New Frontiers in Research Fund program. The rate of success in this competition was about 7%.

This program will invest $250k to support an interdisciplinary, fast-breaking, and high-risk research on “Threat Assesment for Northern Civil Infrastructure Affected by Climate Change Using an AI-Based Geomechanical Model” over the next two years. The project will be led by a group of four professors in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba: Dr. Pooneh Maghoul (PI), Dr. Ahmed Ashraf (Co-PI), Dr. Hartmut Hollaender (Co-App), and Dr. Ahmed Shalaby (Co-App).
