Yu Yan Li, Undergraduate Summer Student (Summer 2018)

Research Interests: Geothermal Energy Piles, Geothermal-Based Snow-Melting System, Thermal Analysis, Cold Regions.

Bio: Yu Yan is an undergraduate research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Maghoul. Yu Yan’s focus is on the heat injection and extraction of geothermal piles in cold region, particularly in the Winnipeg area. She is learning to use COMSOL Multiphysics to model the behaviour of geothermal piles with finite-element analysis.




Ashish Ranjan, Undergraduate Summer Student (Summer 2018)

Research Interests: Stability of Embankments, Soft Soils, Constitutive Laws.

Bio: Ashish is a summer research student (2018) at UofM in the department of civil engineering, currently working on “Stability and deformation of embankments on soft clay foundations”. He is a final year student of B.Tech Civil Engineering at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. He had done an industrial training in 2017 summer at ONGC CBM Asset Bokaro, Jharkhand, India. He completed his All India Secondary School Examination in 2013 from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Rewar, Nawada and All India Senior School Certificate Examination in 2015 from JNV Pune, MR, India.
