2nd Canadian Geothermal Students’ Days (CGSD 2021)

The Canadian Geothermal Students’ Days (CGSD) Organizing Committee is excited to announce that the 2nd CGSD will be held on June 21–22, 2021 at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Mark the date in your calendars! The theme of CGSD 2021 will be Geothermal Energy in Cold Climates, to showcase Canada’s leading role in the field of geothermal energy.

The purpose of CGSD is to bring students working on geothermal energy together for networking, learning, and sharing of knowledge. Integrating students with individuals from academia, industry, and government in the field of geothermal energy will help advance knowledge and technologies to promote the development of geothermal energy in Canada. The 1st CGSD was held in 2019 at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) in Québec City. We are hoping to build on their success and have another valuable and fulfilling event.

Registration and a call for abstracts will happen in the fall. Until then, we will be updating our mailing list and website (https://canadiangeothermal.wixsite.com/cgsd) with announcements and information as details are worked out. You should also follow our Facebook page (https://t.ly/w4hl) to stay up to date! If you are planning to attend CGSD 2021 or have any questions, please contact our Liaison, Ali Fatolahzadeh.

Our committee will monitor how the COVID-19 situation evolves and consider alternative options for the event if need be. We are staying optimistic though, and hopefully CGSD 2021 is unaffected.

Please forward this announcement to your colleagues that may be interested in attending CGSD 2021. We would also appreciate it if you could remind them to contact us to be added to our mailing list. If you would like to be removed from our mailing list, kindly let us know.

We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

CGSD Organizing Committee
